Attracting young talents to optics and photonics
Optics and photonics are indispensable for the future. As key technologies, they contribute to solutions of current and future challenges of mankind. Their potential is rated very highly, especially for digitization.
Young scientists are needed to advance innovations and developments in the optics and photonics industry. For this reason, the Fraunhofer Institute for Applied Optics and Precision Engineering IOF, in cooperation with the Max Planck School of Photonics, organizes the annual Photonics Days Jena as a networking and career event.
Bridging the gap between young scientists and companies
At the Photonics Days Jena, students and doctoral candidates have the opportunity to network face-to-face with representatives of renowned photonics organizations. Even before graduating, students and doctoral candidates can gain perspectives for their own career paths, receive personal advice and develop meaningful connections.
The Photonics Days Jena were created as a networking event to address the needs of the next generation as well as the optics and photonics industry: Young scientists are sensitized to the knowledge and skills that are advantageous when applying for jobs. Representatives can present their companies and create a tangible experience for young scientists that enables a connection between academia and professional development in the future.
